How to send film

Ordering, packing and posting your film.

Place the order online

Choose the correct film process, digital image type and resolution, turnaround, printed photographs and negative-return option. Complete payment before sending the parcel.

Write down your details

Put your full name, email address and Shopify order number on a note inside the parcel. Label separate rolls clearly when they need different treatment.

Protect the film

Keep every 35mm roll in its plastic film container. Keep 120 rolls tightly wound and sealed. Put the film in a rip-proof padded mailer or strong box so it cannot break out, move around or be crushed in transit. Do not use a paper bag or ordinary paper envelope.

Post it to the lab

Address the parcel to Picture This Film Lab, 67 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, BN1 4EB. Use a tracked postal service and keep the tracking receipt until the parcel has been delivered.

Packing checklist

Help the parcel arrive safely and stay identifiable.

Separate instructions

Label anything unusual

Mark rolls individually when they require pushing, pulling, cross-processing or another special instruction. Do not rely only on a message written on the outside of the parcel.

Please avoid

Paper bags and loose film

Keep 35mm rolls in their plastic film containers and use a rip-proof mailer or strong box—film can break out of paper bags and thin paper envelopes in the post. Send disposable cameras complete and unopened, wrapped so they cannot move around or be crushed.

When the parcel arrives

Turnaround starts when we receive your film.

We match the parcel to your online order, check the instructions and begin work according to the selected service. Digital images are delivered online. Negatives and printed photographs are then held for collection or posted according to the option on the order.

Questions people ask us

Sending film by post FAQ

Do I need to order online before posting the film?

Yes. Place and pay for the order first, then include your name and Shopify order number inside the parcel. This lets us identify the film and begin work without delay.

What address should I use?

Picture This Film Lab, 67 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, BN1 4EB.

Should I use tracked postage?

Yes. Use a tracked postal service and keep the tracking receipt until the parcel has been delivered.

Can I post a disposable camera?

Yes. Send the complete camera and do not try to open it or remove the film. Wrap it so it cannot move around or be crushed in transit.

Can I send several rolls together?

Yes. Put them in the same secure parcel and make sure the quantity matches the order. Label individual rolls clearly when they require different processing or digital image options.

When does the turnaround time begin?

The turnaround begins when the parcel reaches the lab and has been matched with the order, not on the day it was posted.

How will I receive the digital images?

Digital images are delivered online using the contact details on the order. Keep that email address accurate and check junk or spam folders when expecting them.

How do I get the negatives and printed photographs back?

Choose the appropriate collection or return option when ordering. We will follow the option shown on the order once processing is complete.
