Picture This

Inspired by the golden age of film photography, Picture This Film Lab is Brighton’s hub for film enthusiasts. Nestled in the vibrant North Laine, we celebrate the artistry and legacy of film with cameras, film, and expert processing under one roof.

We'll help you keep that timeless craft alive, turning your pictures into works of art – made with care in Brighton

Film Developing by Mail Order

Mail us your C41 or B&W negative film. We'll develop your film and email your photos, carefully scanned using a Noritsu HS-1800. Optional C-Type physical prints will be returned by post. Our mail order turnaround time is one day.

Why order with us? We're a small lab staffed by film enthusiasts dedicated to high quality. We keep our processors on top form, running C41 and Black and White developing all day every day. We sleeve negatives in strips of 6. Our prints are real C-Type prints.

Fast, consistent C41 and Black and White film developing

Our commitment to innovation is evident in being one of the first UK labs to convert a C41 mini-lab to process black and white film. This leads to consistent quality and the availability of a fast turnaround time.

Noritsu Scans

A key stage in translating your film into beautiful images is the scanning process. We use the renowned Noritsu HS-1800, the scanner widely preferred by photographers, which consistently delivers superior results compared to other systems.

Noritsu's technology excels in capturing the fine tonal nuances and contrast essential for both colour and black and white photography. Whether scanning 35mm or medium format film, the HS-1800 ensures exceptional clarity and depth, preserving the full dynamic range of your film.

Real C-Type Prints on Photographic Paper

Our prints from your film are true "C-Type" (chromogenic) prints, made from light projected onto on light-sensitive photographic paper using a traditional process that highlights our commitment to quality.

C-Type printing is iconic in classic photography, delivering prints with smooth, continuous tones and vibrant, rich colors.
